HIN of early Whitby was created by John Meskauskas
We are in the process of buying Eugenia, Hull No 2, built in 1972 . The HIN is a 6-digit numeric apparently. Does the building of this boat precede the USCG system discussed in CapnDeb's post on this site? If any other owners have similar numbers it would be a help to my insurance company.
Thanks!

Hi, I am Douglas Stephenson and actually have possession of the original factory control card for inventory for Whitby 42
HIN 427202 which translates to Whitby 42 built in 1972 and was the 2nd one built. At that time it had a Perkins 4-236 Serial #236U84436. And the vessel had aWagner Steering system. It was purchased by Eugene E Davidson. She was originally launched in Nov of 1972. Hope this arrives in a timely manner and your purchase becomes a reality.
