Just logged on to the site and there was a picture of a boat with a swim platform. I think it said hull #2. Wondering if that was original or an add on.

Thanks.

Not sure where my description went but the photo shows the swim platform i built for our Brewer 44. It is mounted to the supports for the aft swim ladder, is supported (deployed) by SS cables on pelican hooks, and folds up against the transom where it is secured by cam hooks and a safety line. I “buried” a folding, telescoping swim ladder in the “box” shown on the top. It’s top surface is treated with Kiwi Grip non-skid.

Thanks all, but the transom of the Whitby 42 is quite different.

Yes, of course. Your original post was not specific to the Whitney (but the hull # was a good hint!).

Just installed a new swim platform, hinged to allow stowage in big seas. Here's a view from beneath. Looks prettier from above, and is very functional - now the default boarding platform. It balances the weight of the recently installed custom bowsprit, and restores the waterline to level, too. By the way, the bowsprit has created a whole new feeling. She's now a balanced waymaker with all sails set, even upwind; weather helm is a thing of the past.

I'm impressed. Homemade? Also interested in your custom bowsprit. Any pictures?

Yes. Took me all winter. I'll take some photos of the sprit, too.

Attached are photos of both swim platform and bowsprit. Together they increase LOA from 42 to 47, but both are great enhancements to enjoyment and performance.
