Sailrite sewing machine stowage was created by Michael Smolek
I recently bought a Sailrite sewing machine and thought I would stow it behind the rear hatch ladder but it stuck too far into the passageway. There are not many places on my boat for such a large heavy box-shaped item. I decided to use the locker under the rear berth filler insert. My boat has a flexible holding tank in that locker but I was able to build a box that fits in the hatch opening (which had to be enlarged some) leaving some room under for the holding tank expansion . The Sailrite case slips into the box and is strapped down.

That looks great.

Currently borrowing a friend's Sailrite machine. Those things are 100lb beasts!

That is beautiful. My Sailrite has the brown wood box and I sawed two slots in the cover to accommodate the rear companionway ladder and it locks in there in the roughest weather.
