rebedding mast collar on Brewer 44 1 Year, 6 Months ago
What do the 4 flat -head screws that hold the mast collar to the deck screw into? I assume there are wshers and nuts buried in the deck as opposed to wood screws Is cutting access hole in the liner the only way to accces them ? Any hints will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Frank

I rebed the mast collar of my 1984 Brewer 12.8 ketch about a year and a half ago after trying to stop leaks for a couple of years. Not a drip now. I have an Isomat Mast and collar. The collar has 8 hex stainless bolts and they are through bolted through the canin top. I had to remove the trip around the top of the mast. One hole was inaccesable from below and it had a stainless lag bolt. I had the mast unstepped to make sure that the job was done right the first time. The mast had not been unstepped in ten years and was ready for a good, on the ground, inspection anyway.
