I don't own a Whitby 42, I don't own a boat at all .... but ....
I do own a full set of Brewer Pacific 42 plans, with the intention of building a Pacific 42. And as far as I can tell they are very similar in design. I'm currently in the process of customizing the plans to get exactly the boat I want. And it seems like this is a good place to hang out for getting ideas and bouncing ideas around.
My plan is to spend a couple years building a big pile of money and working on the design and then spend a couple years actually building it.
I'm building because I want to build it, it would actually be cheaper to buy a boat and re-furbish it, I know this. The building is more than half the fun for me.
So, what I'd really like to know is .... if Ted was designing the Whitby 42 today, what would you ask for?

Welcome to WBS! I am sure that you will find a lot of useful information as you follow along with our website. We have been living aboard for 10 years now and find the Whitby a wonderful boat, either on the hook or sailing!

Well, I'm starting with a "small" pile of money, watering it everyday, making sure it gets just the right amount of sun ... and I think I'm starting to see sprouts ...
Actually, I'm in that enviable position of having the "good" income of a "seasoned career", two kids, both in the military instead of college, only one ex-wife and only one girlfriend and zero debts. So, I'm investing.
