Hello to all members,
Diane Gorch and I, Randy Robinson have recently joined your group. The Whitby – Brewer Association is impressive. Well organized with a wealth of information ( and we are going to need it). In the last month we purchased a Whitby 42, hull #134 built in 1979. The original owner sailed it from the Whitby Boat Works to Sarnia Ontario it’s home port while sailing the upper Great Lakes it’s entire life.
Our dream is in 2 years from now we will be in Bermuda provisioning for The BVI’s and beyond. We have a lot of work ahead of us, (the list is long) and being able to follow your forum threads will be a big help. Just glancing at the resent postings there is dorade box design failure and shaft coupling listed. Our Whitby 42 (Sinbad) has high moisture around the dorade box’s and it’s drive shaft coupling is in my garage, the shaft spun out backing out of the dock when we went to haul it out before purchasing the boat!
We are looking forward to making your next Fall Rendezvous and meeting you.
Thanks for having us,
Randy & Diane
