TOPIC: Deck Paint Options

Deck Paint Options 1 Year, 8 Months ago
Ahoy experienced painters,

Our decks and coachroof are looking pretty shabby after 18 months in the sun. I'm considering using a two-part polyurethane. West Marine sells Interlux "Perfection" which is a good deal less expensive than Sterling. Does anyone experience with this product or have any advise on the subject? I will be rolling it on, not spraying. It's so much work to remove deck hardware, that the cost of the paint is a minor factor.

The first time that we painted the decks we used Interlux Brightside, a one part product that allows repairs. It lasted about 10 years in the Florida sun. We recently repainted the deck and used Signature Finish Paint. Having used the Honey Teak product for a number of years we thought we would give Tom's paint a try and have been very happy with it. It is a 3 part paint that can be brushed, rolled or sprayed. Support is incredible, as Tom (the company owner) is accessible by phone 7 days a week, and yes, you actually get to talk to Tom!
