Provisioning is a snap with groceries a mile from the City Marina, a West Marine dinghy dock and a Home Depot, not to mention the local theatre and movie house, several restaurants (accessible by dink) with live music nightly.
There is a Cruiser's Net each and every morning at 0900 on Channel 68 where all sorts of information is passed. New bathrooms are being built (scheduled to be finished for the boating season), a new 'chickee hut' has been finished and I just learned that you can register on line at the City Marina's website!
Marathon is not only a good place to prepare for your cruising adventure, but many come as their 'point of destination'. And still others have come intending to spend a few weeks and end up making Boot Key Harbor their home!
