The Association holds a "sail-in" or "drive-in" rendezvous each year. We try to provide dock or anchor space for 10 - 20 boats. In many of the past years Bruce Rankin and Pat Drenning have allowed us to use their docks and homes on Whitehall Creek in the Annapolis area. In 2006, we were hosted by the West River Sailing Club located in the Galesville just south of Annapolis. Both venues are wonderful locations to hold our meetings and we look forward to either in the future. The 2008 rendezvous is again graciously hosted by the West River Sailing Club.
Plans are finalized in the July or August time-frame. Please contact one of the contacts listed on the site for more information or view the calendar link in the left menu for 2009 Rendezvous information. We hope you'll attend.
Presentations are largely owner / user/ aficionado based. We strive to have several "professional" presentations mixed in with discussions about various topics among the attendees. We have learned that there are few more expert than those in attendance. It is quite different to hear the experiences of a blue water sailing couple after they have crossed the Atlantic versus the sales pitch of a sail loft spokesman.
In addition to presentations, there is a wonderful opportunity to meet and get to know fellow WB sailors. We share a goal. How nice is it to drop anchor in a foreign anchorage and 10 minutes later hear a knock on the side of the hull only to greet folks you met at the rendezvous 4 months ago? We're a fun family!
We hope you will join us.
